Alex Tew was born in England and he had completed his high schooling from Wiltshire, England in 2002. After his high schooling, he used to pursue this beatboxing career instead of going to college, and in that time he founded his online beatboxing platform that is HumanBeatBox.com, where people can share their insights and learn to
make various sounds for beatboxing.
Then in 2005 Alex again took admission in the University of Nottingham where he studied BA Business Management but he did complete his college education because he felt that he would left-back with student loan if he continues his further studies so, finally he focused towards his entrepreneurial journey. Alex dropped out of college in 2006.

In the year 2012 Alex Tew along with Acton Smith founded another company Calm. It is a software company based in San Francisco, California. Calm is a leading app for meditation, stress-relief, sleep etc.
In 2008, Alex founded another company named Popjam, which was an online news aggregation platform that allows users to discover and share funny content. It was closed in 2011.

Back in 2005, Alex Tew enrolled at the University of Nottingham but he realizes that at last, he would be left-back with a student loan, which will take him many years to repay back. So, he founded his first technology venture, i.e “Million Dollar Homepage (www.milliondollarhomepage.com)” to raise money for his university education. The website consisted of a million pixels arranged in a 1000 × 1000 pixel grid, the image-based links on it were sold for $1 per pixel in 10 × 10 blocks. The purchasers of these pixel blocks provided tiny images to be displayed on them. The aim of the website was to sell all of the pixels in the image, thus generating a million dollars of income for the creator. And with that Million Dollar Homepage which was his first technology venture, he became a millionaire at the age of 21 within four months of Million Dollar Homepage.

Tew has invested in several companies like Pixelotto, PopJam etc. and once he had also worked as a Product Manager at Monkey Inferno which is in San Francisco.
