Early Life & Education
Hari Menon was born back in 1963 in Bandra West, Mumbai into a very middle-class and humble family. From the very beginning, he had immense interest in two things – Music and Cricket. He is a member of Karnataka Cricket Association.
Hari started his education in Lawrence School, Lovedale. Then he pursued B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from University of Kerala back in 1983. After that, he pursued his graduation from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, also known as Bits Pilani. Then he pursued an MBA degree from Carnegie Mellon University, a private university in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He also has an M.S degree in Industrial Engineering majoring in Operations Research from Oklahoma State University which he did back in 1988. So we can say he holds a lot of degrees from different educational institutes.

After completing his studies, he began his career by being a Software Engineer at Consilium back in 1990. He worked there for 3 years till 1993. Then he left this job and became a Manager at Accenture and spend another 3 years of his carrer there. After that, he became a Senior Director or product management at Aspect i2 Technologies and worked there for only a year. Then he played the role of a Senior Director of product strategy and marketing at Aspect Development till 2002, another two years of his career. From 2003 to 2004 he was a Vise President of Corporate Strategy and Marketing at Bristlecone Inc, another company founded by Hari himself.
Finally, in September 2004, he started his entrepreneurial journey and along with few others, co-founded a company called Tumri. He was a CEO at his company. But in 2012, this organisation was first acquired by Collective Media and then became a part of Adobe.
Simultaneously, he co-founded BigBasket, now India’s biggest supermarket, back in 1st October 2011. He was an Advisor at GraphEffect and CEO of Serus Corporation as well. He was also a board member of Ace Learning Company from 2011 to 2015. He also worked at Timeli as CEO of the company and currently is a CEO of his other company called Symphony Industrial AI. Presently he is playing a role of Board Member of Sepsis Alliance, Co-founder and group president at Paanini and Jiffy.ai. As we can see, he has worked at a bunch of organisations in his career.
Hari Menon is an alumnus of BITS Pilani. He was the CEO of India skills, the vocational education JV of Manipal Group with City & Guilds, UK.
